The Acharya Vidyalaya and the satsanga (conducive positive environment) at the gurukula are
designed to immerse you on all the aspects necessary to start and run a gurukula. The aspects
include the bharatiya philosophy of education, curriculum (what to teach), pedagogy (how to
teach), classroom management, age-appropriate dealing with children and adolescence, financial
management, kitchen management, parent engagement, legal management, recruitment of
acharyas (teachers), admission process, transport, land and architecture management. The course
will also help you get an integrated understanding of व्यष्टि (family/self), समष्टि (society), सृष्टि
(environment) and परमेष्टि (God/Spirituality). Importantly, you will also get a deep understanding of
the connection between education, economy, society and culture. In essence, you will be able to
understand the primary role of education in teaching Dharma and leading to an individual’s growth
and nation building.
Your every schedule will involve Sadhana and Tapasya for your mental, physical and spiritual
development, Seva (partaking in the everyday activities to ensure the upkeep of the Gurukula),
Bhaudik (knowledge sessions), research, classroom participation, learning a kala, Adhyayana
(reading, application) and writing. The course will also involve trips to partner organizations/gurukulas
and other people you can learn from. You will be taking up real-time projects within Vidyakshetra or
our partner organizations.
Anyone 25 years and above and is serious about starting,
building and running a school rooted in Bharatiya methodology.
Please go through the Vidyakshetra website. If you do not
connect with the principles, philosophy and the methodologies
that are followed here, then the programme is perhaps not for
you.
You can apply by filling the application form.
Apply: Apply through the application form.
Last date for application is 30th April,
2025. All selected applicants will be called to attend the 5-day Anubhav program in
June (dates to be determined). We will also notify in case you are not selected for
the Anubhav.
Anubhav:
The 5-day Anubhav programme is designed to give you a real sense of the 2-4 year
Acharya Program. You will get to experience the nature of sadhana and life-style
changes required. You’ll get a good sense fundamental principles, what you’ll learn
and how your days will be during the longer program. This will help you decide
clearly if this is the program you want to undertake. Attending the Anubhav program
is mandatory for all candidates who seek admission into the Acharya Program.
Selection: We will be declaring the candidates selected for the Acharya program
after the Anubhav Programme.
You will receive a Maan Patra (A letter of recommendation) from Vidyakshetra upon completion of the
programme. We will also give you a reference if you chose to apply to any of our partner Gurukulas.
The programme caters to anyone who wants to start a Gurukula (Kulapati Acharya), to ones who seek to
become Class-owners (Kaksha Acharya) or subject teachers (Visesha Acharya) in a Gurukula. The programme
would be suited even for those who seek to be writers (Lekhak Acharya) or researchers (Anusandhaan
Acharya) in Bharatiya Shiksha.
Before we answer this question, it is important for you to understand the basis of learning at Acharya
Vidyalaya.
The responsibility of the learning: The Acaharya program is for individuals who are deeply self-motivated to
contribute to nation building through Bharatiya Shiksha. We provide the necessary environment, mentors,
resources and direction to the best of our ability. But, the onus of learning falls on the individual’s
self-drive, capacity and effort. In essence, how soon you will be ready is dependent on you.
Subjective learning: While we have an indicative number of years on how long it takes before one is ready
to teach or to start a Gurukula, the real time is subject to many factors. Some of which include, how far into
the journey one already is, how much effort is one willing to put in everyday and what is one seeking to
learn through the programme.
In essence it is likely to take anywhere between 1 to 5 years for one achieve the desired outcomes of the
Acharya Vidyalaya programme. When you attend the 5-day Anubhav programme you will get a better idea of
this.
All the programmes have both residential and correspondence options. If the participant chooses the option,
they will be on campus for 6 weeks in a year.
In a progressive society, everyone strives to go deeper in knowledge. In an uncontaminated state, such
knowledge is transmitted from the heart of the guru to the heart of a sincere student & it transforms him
forever. Such is the power of knowledge. But this power can be tapped only when it is uncontaminated.
Just like our Gurukula, the Acharya Vidyalaya will run on a Dakshina model. Sadhaks enrolled in the programme
give Guru Dakshina to the best of their ability and the gap is filled by collecting daana from friends and well
wishers of Vidyakshetra.
Please mail us your questions, name and contact number to vidyakshetra.acharyavidyala@gmail.com. We will reach out to you.
